You approach the edge of the cliff, nervous but excited. The rope takes your weight, its strength reassuring. Below you, the proud ramparts of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs plunge some 20 metres to the banks of the Brisbane River. The sun dips low in the west, the sky darkens, and the lights of the city twinkle into existence one by one. Your pulse quickens as you step over the edge, descending with the help and encouragement of your Pinnacle Sports guide.

OUR GUIDES
Our awesome guides are highly trained, fully accredited, and heaps of fun! They'll teach you everything you need to know, as well as take care of the safety procedures and provide all the gear, including harness, helmet and all other equipment. All youll need is a water bottle, appropriate clothing, and enclosed shoes for getting around the cliffs (and a camera couldnt hurt!)

About your guide
Pinnacle Sports is a specialist climbing/height retailer based in Red Hill, Queensland. Our shop is owned and staffed by passionate, knowledgeable climbers, who have been not only working in the industry for years but climbing with the locals and supporting the outdoor community.
Pinnacle Sports is an independently owned business and is home to a wealth of experience - AJ alone has been involved in the industry for more than 20 years.
What do we do equipment, courses, inspections and builds, climbing and abseiling adventures and dedicated climbing holidays.
Pinnacle Sports does everything to do with adventures, from climbing to hiking and everything in between! We retail recreational and industrial climbing equipment, as well as arbor equipment. Cant find exactly what youre after? Let us know and well do our best to locate it for you.
We also offer climbing and abseiling adventures throughout Southeast Queensland in locations such as Kangaroo Point Brisbane and the Glasshouse Mountains. We operate with small participant to guide ratios so that everyone takes home an experience to remember. All of our guides hold nationally recognised qualifications.
Want to see what the world has to offer climbing wise? We run climbing holidays to locations including Kalymnos Greece, Yangshuo, China and Cat Ba Island in Vietnam. Our guides have spent extensive amounts at each location so you get the most of your climbing holiday.
Pinnacle runs accredited recreational climbing courses so that participants can be confident that they are being taught best industry practice.

- Top Rope Climbing
- Abseiling
- Self Rescue
- Vertical Rescue
- Leader Guide (single pitch abseil and single pitch climb)
- Guide Top Rope Climbing on Artificial Surface
Of course if you don't think you are ready to learn the ropes (pun intended) we offer courses to get your climbing off the ground (again pun intended). These included a Kid's Climbing Program, Adults Climbing course and Sport Lead Course.
Guest requirements
Fitness Requirements:
You don't need much fitness to abseil, but returning to the top of the cliff requires ascending a steep staircase and ramp some folks find it a bit draining! No technical experience is required whatsoever, we'll teach you all the skills you need.
The Fine Print:
Private bookings can be arranged on request, if minimum numbers are not meet, extra costs may be incurred
Minimum participant age is 8 years old (participants 8-16 years old must be accompanied by an adult)
All participants must complete a waiver prior to beginning the activity. Participants under 18 years of age will require a parent or guardian to sign their waiver
This activity is subject to minimum and maximum numbers to run. In the event that the minimum number of participants are not available, the activity may be rescheduled.
This activity will run even if it's a bit wet. In the event of serious weather, we'll reschedule the activity
Safety Restrictions
Due to the nature of this activity it is not suitable for participants with any of the following medical conditions to participate:
Neck, back, heart disorders
High/low blood pressure
Recent surgery/illness/ injury
Not recommended during pregnancy
Other adverse medical conditions

2 Hours
The activity runs for approximately 2 hours. We'll meet at Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Brisbane QLD.
Here, you'll meet your Pinnacle Guide for a full lesson in abseil skills and the safety considerations. Then enjoy the view behind you as you abseil down these stunning cliffs. You'll see why Kangaroo Point Cliffs is one of Brisbane's most iconic locations.
Session Times:
The timing is seasonal, please check start and finish times based on the calendar availability
The session runs for 2 hours, from 4:30pm - 6:30pm (September to April)
The session runs for 2 hours from 3:30pm - 5:30pm (May to August)
